A Manifesting
of the MettaTropical

My Love

Do you feel it too? This sorrow of a world falling apart And yet this faith for what's possible. This utter despair with any path offered And yet this wild hope in impossible times. This doubt if you matter at all And yet this certainty that your actions have cosmic significance. This fear for what is ahead of us And yet this courageous love ready to flow out. This loneliness in a hyperconnected world And yet this deep connection with it all when in nature. This confusion on who you really are And yet this conviction that you belong here. This grief from the destruction of life And yet this radical aliveness to protect all living beings. What if our broken pieces Are not mistakes to fix But seeds to plant? What if our suffering Is not a reason for despair But a call for responsibility? What if the crisis we are in Is not the end of it all But exactly what we need To get to where we're going? And what if in the heart of Latin America Lie the answers To humanity's greatest prayers? In the ever present now Where crisis meets ecstasy Where wisdom dances with collapse Where East meets West Where North meets South We rise We pulse We transform We speak of decolonization Through colonial tongues Portuguese on our lips English in our manifestos The very words that bound us Now set us free. We are the children of colonizers And the children of those they hunted The blood of oppressor and oppressed Flowing through the same veins. Making peace with ourselves Is making peace with history. Here in the Global South Dreaming First World dreams Here in the periphery Claiming to be the new center The margins becoming mainstream Without losing their edge. We are the bastard children Of every civilization Too indigenous for Europe. Too Western for the tribe. Too spiritual for science. Too rational for the gods. And yet— It is in these contradictions That our power flowers Like bromélias growing From São Paulo's concrete walls Life finding a way Through impossible cracks. For we are the impossible children Of an impossible time Between forest and city Prayer and research Dream and reality We rise. WE WILL NOT CHOOSE: Between tradition and progression Between science and soul Between individual and collective Between crisis and celebration Between Meta and Metta Between North and South Between East and West Between living and dying Between being and becoming WE CHOOSE: The sacred "AND". The path of pragmatic faith. The smile and the tears of every day. The coherence of becoming what we need. WE ARE: The ones who dance through the apocalypse The ones who remember tomorrow The ones who steal the fire The ones who know love is revolutionary WE DECLARE: That wisdom must catch fire That love must go viral That consciousness must evolve at the speed of light That bodies must remember what books forgot That technology must learn to breathe That progress must learn to pray That science must learn to sing That spirituality must learn to code That the North must learn to rest That the South must learn to rise That the East must learn to dance That the West must learn to bow THIS IS OUR PROPHECY: The salvation of the modern Will come from the primitive. The healing of the mind Will come from the body. The future of technology Will come from the forest. The evolution of consciousness Will come from intimacy. WE CALL: To the ones who feel it stirring To the ones who know it's time To the ones who need it most To the ones who still have faith To the ones who love this planet To the ones who know the Tropical To the ones who are ready to give their lives And to the ones who need it most. WE REJECT: The false choice between progress and wisdom The silver bullet myth of techno-utopia The oligarchic censorship of imagination The escapism of digital bread and circus WE EMBRACE: The sacred marriage of silicon and soul The wise integration of speed and presence The conscious evolution of our extended beings The distributed intelligence of our collective heart WE COVENANT: To build gardens, not walls Where value flows free as water Where trust is earned, not imposed Where local wisdom guides global flows Where sovereignty breeds resilience And abundance breeds generosity In the ecology of free collaboration In this time of great acceleration We neither resist nor surrender But surf the wave with open hearts Knowing that our greatest technology Is still the human capacity to love. There is a gift this land must give To the world, and to humanity. We are but the messengers Vessels of love, disciples of the tomorrow. Balancing, juggling We will dance our way to the twilight of modernity Mourning and playing And perhaps, allowing for the birth of something more beautiful. Join the dance. The future needs your moves The present, your dreams The past, your remembering The Earth, your love The crisis, your joy The evolution needs your body, and The revolution needs your soul. We are MettaTropical, and we are just the beginning.

In this age of converging crises

As both biosphere and meaning-making collapse, a new possibility emerges from Brazil. Here, where carnival and catastrophe coexist, where the wounds of genocide and the power of love flow through the same veins, where ancient wisdom and memetic virality dance in unexpected harmony.

While the Global North drowns in nihilism and techno-utopian delusions, the tropics remember what others have forgotten. Too indigenous for the Global North – just right to integrate tradition, modernity and acceleration into a new culture for all.

As modernity crumbles and post-modernity cannot fill its void, as technological acceleration threatens to outpace wisdom, we must not regress to dogmas and despots, nor surrender to algorithmic governance, but move beyond to the metamodern era. Our tropical metamodernity is one centered in love and has no fear of sounding spiritual or unscientific, because it is already both and neither at the same time. It embraces both the quantum computer and the shamanic drum, the blockchain and the circle dance, artificial intelligence and ancestral knowing. Only a society filled with contradictions can birth a truly new culture in this time of crisis.

We integrate the traditional, the modern and the post-modern into the metamodern. We integrate love: the ecstasy of eros, the drive of the West, of passion, calling and desire, with the compassion of metta, the harmony of the East, of surrender, service, and selflessness. We recognize love, in all forms, as the driving force of the universe and of all life and we vow to tend to it just as it tends to us.

This is MettaTropical: the intersection between metamodernity, cosmoerotic humanism, and gentle decolonialism in an age of exponential acceleration. This is the truth we intuit in our hearts, perceive in our minds, feel in our bodies, and that we give birth to now in the tropics. The future will not be engineered in Silicon Valley nor theorized in European universities, neither will it be generated by artificial intelligence alone. It will emerge from the places where necessity mothers invention, where crisis breeds creativity, where ancient wisdom meets future vision, where technology serves life and births wisdom. The solutions we need cannot be computed alone – they must also be composed, practiced and felt.

MettaTropical is not another ideology but a lived practice, not a new dogma but a new culture, not a rejection of technology but its evolution through love. This is the medicine modernity has been dying for, the wisdom artificial intelligence is desperately in need of. We choose to face this time of great unraveling with the only force stronger than fear – the revolutionary power of love itself.

An ever incomplete list

of Metta-Tropical non-dogmas

  1. There are no absolute dogmas - all truths evolve and transform.
  2. Love in all its forms (Eros, Metta, Agape) is the fundamental force of the universe and of life.
  3. Integration, not transcendence, is our path: mind-body-soul, east-west, north-south, tradition-modernity-future, and all of it together.
  4. Revolution is not something we do - it is something we become and embody. Every single day.
  5. Community is our vessel: we practice together, support each other, and hold space for our unique self expressions, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
  6. Resonance is our guide: we trust in what authentically vibrates between hearts, minds, and bodies.
  7. We cultivate the field of value: nurturing it as it nurtures us, protecting what gives life.
  8. Joy is our compass: we embrace play, lightness, and celebration as revolutionary acts, even through times of mourning.
  9. Growth is our commitment: we dedicate ourselves to learning and evolution, while honoring our limits.
  10. Crisis and opportunity are the same force viewed from different angles of consciousness.
  11. There is no division between sacred and secular: love must move through markets and churches, dance floors and hacker houses.
  12. The body is our first technology: we honor ancestral wisdom while embracing digital evolution, knowing that true innovation flows from embodied intelligence.
  13. Time is not linear: we live in the ancestral future, where yesterday's wisdom meets tomorrow's dreams in today's actions.
  14. Contradictions are fertile ground from which new possibilities grow: we thrive in the spaces between opposing truths, finding power in paradox.
  15. Nature is the ultimate teacher: we learn from its wisdom at all levels, mimicking form and function, balancing competition and cooperation, understanding cycles of life and death.
  16. Technological acceleration without equal growth in wisdom is a pathway to collective suicide, the fantasy of technical salvation is an addiction of the modern mind.
  17. Escapism is the shadow side of our search for revolution, and healing requires facing what we're running from.
  18. We are the prophecy we have been waiting for: no one will come and save us, all voices are necessary in this choir, we are all chosen by the urgency of now.
  19. The future is neither utopian nor dystopian: we reject both techno-optimism and techno-pessimism in favor of pragmatic wisdom that recognizes both the potential and pitfalls of our tools.
  20. Artificial and natural intelligence must dance together: we seek not to create AI in our image, but to evolve together in a symbiotic relationship that enhances both human and machine consciousness.
  21. Sense-making is a collective practice: in times of exponential change, no single perspective can capture the whole truth. We must learn to navigate complexity together, combining ancient wisdom with emerging insights.
  22. Transhumanism must be humanized: the evolution of our species through technology must be guided by love, wisdom, and ecological awareness, not just efficiency and control.

These statements are not commandments but conversations, not rules but resonances, not destinations but dances. They are meant to evolve, to be challenged, and to spark the fires of transformation in those who encounter them.
