My Love

As both biosphere and meaning-making collapse, a new possibility emerges from Brazil. Here, where carnival and catastrophe coexist, where the wounds of genocide and the power of love flow through the same veins, where ancient wisdom and memetic virality dance in unexpected harmony.
While the Global North drowns in nihilism and techno-utopian delusions, the tropics remember what others have forgotten. Too indigenous for the Global North – just right to integrate tradition, modernity and acceleration into a new culture for all.
As modernity crumbles and post-modernity cannot fill its void, as technological acceleration threatens to outpace wisdom, we must not regress to dogmas and despots, nor surrender to algorithmic governance, but move beyond to the metamodern era. Our tropical metamodernity is one centered in love and has no fear of sounding spiritual or unscientific, because it is already both and neither at the same time. It embraces both the quantum computer and the shamanic drum, the blockchain and the circle dance, artificial intelligence and ancestral knowing. Only a society filled with contradictions can birth a truly new culture in this time of crisis.
We integrate the traditional, the modern and the post-modern into the metamodern. We integrate love: the ecstasy of eros, the drive of the West, of passion, calling and desire, with the compassion of metta, the harmony of the East, of surrender, service, and selflessness. We recognize love, in all forms, as the driving force of the universe and of all life and we vow to tend to it just as it tends to us.
This is MettaTropical: the intersection between metamodernity, cosmoerotic humanism, and gentle decolonialism in an age of exponential acceleration. This is the truth we intuit in our hearts, perceive in our minds, feel in our bodies, and that we give birth to now in the tropics. The future will not be engineered in Silicon Valley nor theorized in European universities, neither will it be generated by artificial intelligence alone. It will emerge from the places where necessity mothers invention, where crisis breeds creativity, where ancient wisdom meets future vision, where technology serves life and births wisdom. The solutions we need cannot be computed alone – they must also be composed, practiced and felt.
MettaTropical is not another ideology but a lived practice, not a new dogma but a new culture, not a rejection of technology but its evolution through love. This is the medicine modernity has been dying for, the wisdom artificial intelligence is desperately in need of. We choose to face this time of great unraveling with the only force stronger than fear – the revolutionary power of love itself.
These statements are not commandments but conversations, not rules but resonances, not destinations but dances. They are meant to evolve, to be challenged, and to spark the fires of transformation in those who encounter them.
